Traditionally, the Great Kilt was simply a large piece of cloth, held together with a belt and folded in precise ways.

Waist: measure firmly around waist at navel height. Note that this will usually be different from you High Street trouser waist size.

Seat: measure loosely around the largest part of the seat area.

Inside leg: measure from the crotch to the desired length. If in doubt, use your tape measure on a pair of well-fitting trousers you already own.
